This is a 4 day Barista programme designed to give you the practical and theoretical skills required to gain an entry level role in industry. Never made coffee? Not a problem, we’ll teach you!
Work books will be sent out in advance of the course to familiarise with the course content and you will be taught everything that you need to know on the course.
This course is focused on learning in a practical environment while also gaining the theoretical knowledge you need to make great espresso beverages. Your industry experienced and knowledgable tutor will guide you through what is required to make excellent espresso beverages. You will have time to practice and develop your new skill set while you are on the course.
People credited with this unit standard are able to:
- Prepare espresso equipment and ingredients
- Extract espresso, and explain potential problems with espresso and espresso equipment
- Prepare milk, and explain potential problems with preparing milk, for espresso beverages
- Present espresso beverages for service.
This programme will award you the following credits:
5 Credits, Level 3
FURTHER STUDY AND EMPLOYMENT:
Students may choose to continue on to further study in hospitality or find entry level employment.

This includes the 4 day programme and all materials and work books required for the course. (This programme is NOT eligible for study link assistance.)
3 days will be run consecutively from the start date. For example if the course starts on a monday then the course will run Monday, Tuesday Wednesday. The fourth day is an assessment day and is confirmed before the course start date – this day will be allocated within two weeks of the course if not before.
