About Hospitality and Tourism Level 2 is a programme designed to give students an understanding of the key concepts of these exciting and broad industries. Students will enjoy field trips, team building exercises, active learning in the classroom and build confidence in their ability to work with others while gaining valuable qualifications.

Level 2 programmes are a great opportunity for students to experience an area of interest, contribute to NCEA while still leaving their options open for future study and employment.

New Zealand Certificate in Hospitality Level 2
New Zealand Certificate in Tourism Level 2

89 credits of this programme can cross credit towards NCEA qualifications. It is the students responsibility to make sure that they are meeting all requirements (including numeracy and literacy) if they wish to simultaneously contribute to other qualifications.

Further Study and Employment

Students are left with options after completing this programme. The course is designed to provide skills that can be used in other industries, and therefore we see students move onto a multitude of different programmes – from the obvious career endeavours in hospitality, tourism and travel to hairdressing, IT and cookery.

Please note most students do not move straight into work after completing this programme but onto further study.

Entry Requirements

This is a youth guarantee programme therefore all students must meet requirements.

16 to 19 years of age
Highest qualification no higher than NCEA Level 1
Some Level 1 NCEA credits

Fees and Start Dates

This is a Youth Guarantee programme only. Student who may apply will be required to be between the ages of 16 and 19 years of age and possess no qualification higher than NCEA Level 2. Other entry criteria apply. Please contact us for further details. Successful students will NOT pay fees, course related costs and will receive a travel allowance.
